Senator James Emmanuel Nuquay rallies citizens of electoral District #5 Margibi to reject US-sanctioned former Minister Nathaniel Farlo McGill’s senatorial bid.

Delivering a special message at the traditional reconciliation session held in District #5 Margibi on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, Senator James Emmanuel Nuquay inform the residents of the district that the CDC senatorial candidate McGill’s involvement in Margibi politics is not meant to develop the county but rather to get more resources from the county and protect his tingling character by giving him an elected position something he calls on citizens of the areas to reject.

The senator however encouraged Margibians to question McGill to identify his projects while serving as Minister of States for Presidential Affairs for approximately five years and seven months under the Weah-Taylor administration since he claims to be developmental, adding that Margibi is currently better in development than McGill’s home county Gbopolu.

Hon. Nuquay noted that it is time for a son of the lower end to be elected senator adding that in the 2020 special senatorial election, the people of Lower Margibi voted for him overwhelmingly to serve the county.

He at the same time indicated that the lower end deserves such an opportunity in this 2023 elections but explained that such an opportunity should not be given out to a stranger.

He then encouraged citizens of upper Margibi to not be moved by peanuts coming from people who left power with disgrace stressing that after the election citizens will not have access to such individuals because they do not have an origin in the county.

As an individual who has served for approximately 18 years in the Liberian legislature with lots of contributions to his county told residents if any mistake in electing the stranger the citizens of the upper end will be responsible.

In separate remarks, the chiefs, elders, youths, and women decline their support from the US-sanctioned former Minister Nathaniel McGill noting that Senator Nuquay has over time been very helpful to the forward match of the county and as such they are willing to follow him and support any of the son or daughter who he believes is best suited to buttress his efforts at the house of senate.

They made the assertions during a special traditional session held in Weala District #5 Margibi County Wednesday.
