Voinjama, Lofa County – Senator Cllr. Joseph K. Jallah of Lofa County has publicly declared his support for the establishment of an official Muslim holiday in Liberia, a move he thinks underscores the importance of inclusivity and national recognition of the country’s religious diversity.
The Senator made the statement during a recent visit to Voinjama, where he donated a public address system to the Mande Intellectual Forum—an organization known for fostering dialogue and knowledge-sharing among community members.
In his remarks, Senator Jallah emphasized the need to recognize the cultural and religious contributions of Liberia’s Muslim population, advocating for their inclusion in the nation’s official calendar of holidays.
“This initiative is not just about a day off,” Senator Jallah said. “It is about acknowledging the role of our Muslim brothers and sisters in the fabric of our national identity. It’s about fairness, respect, and unity.”
