THREE WINS FOR BOMI AS SHE PREPARES FOR A DO OR DIE BATTLE IN LOFA COME DECEMBER.
The Soccer team of Bomi has again put out another resounding victory as the County heads to what Sport Pundits described as a “Do Or Die Battle”. Bomi on yesterday at the C.H. Dewey Sport page in Tubmanburg fought with her might to defeat her neighbor Grand Cape Mount a goal to nail in a second leg Match.
Cape Mount pulled an impressive performance in the friendly encounter with series of chances but didn’t work well for the Visitors. Prior to today pre-season match, Bomi on October 30, 2022 at the David Kuonyon Sport page defeated Bomi County a goal to nail marking the first pre-season win for the Blue Lakers.
On November 11 at the Madina sport page in Grand Cape Mount County, the Purple Boys again dominated in a 2, 1 victory over the host team, a win that activated the hopes of many sports enthusiasts and fan across the county. Bomi is drawn in group C of this year’s County Meet with Nimba, River Gee and host Lofa. However there are mis-reactions about the chance of the Blue Lake Boys qualifying from the group stage in Lofa. Many supporters believed that with the presence of county meet giant Nimba and host Lofa in a zone it is difficult for the County to cross the group stage.
It can be recalled in the 2020/2021 edition Bomi was paired with Nimba in Sinoe County, where the both met when the hope of the County was obliterated by Nimba in a paining one zero. Also in the quarter final stage in 2019/2020 at the Samuel K. Doe Sports complex, the Purple Boys were trashed three goals to two by the Wologisi Boys, thus ending their journey that year. However, the last year edition where the Blue Lakers hosted group C, Lofa fell prey with a frustrating one goal to zero in Tubmanburg.
Despite the records, many are of the conviction that the Blue Lakers will escape bowing in group stage in Lofa, attributing their confidences to the three pre-season victories. They believed that with the presence of Coach Stephen Tarr alias Appiah who led Bomi to victory in 2018/2019 the purple boys can repeat the history of 2019.
This year National County Sports Meet is expected to kick off officially on December 17, at the Dorris William Sport page in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County…
