LIBERIA: GRAND CAPE MOUNT COUNTY SENATORIAL ASPIRANT, MADAM DABAH M. VARPLIA DESCRIBES TRUE LEADERSHIP AS PRIORITY IN THE PENDING ELECTION.

Grand Cape Mount County Senatorial Aspirant, Madam Dabah M. Varplia describes true leadership as priority in choosing leaders come 2023.

Speaking to reporters, Aspirant Varplia said, she contested on the then CPP ticket for the Senate seat during the Senatorial by-Election, but unfortunately she was defeated.

She further said, the past electoral process provided more eye openings, as she interacted with citizens, and sees the need to represent them at the Senate.

Aspirant Varplia said, as daughter of Grand Cape Mount County, she is prepared, and ready to serve her people and won’t step aside as she sees her people going through the need of true leadership.

” True Leadership is what I have come to provide”, she assured.

Aspirant Varplia however said, Cape Mount has not been able to produce a female legislator among the county Caucus members, adding that it’s time to produce female senator.

The lone female Aspirant, said, the world is changing, and as such the mind of the people needs to be developed so as to be useful in society.

She at the same time narrated, that Bomi, and Gbarpolu Counties have produced female legislators for the last three terms, and they’re representing their people positively, and that Cape Mount County can do the same.

She however lamented, that detractors have the believed that Cape Mount is an Islamic county, and female leadership cannot be considerd.

” We have five districts in Cape Mount, today I can say for free that two of those districts, Porkpa and Garwulah are been led by female Paramount Chiefs, “she added.

She maintained, that Cape Mount County needs female representation in terms of lawmaking, oversight and among others.

Speaking further, Madam Varplah made reference to the Bea Mountain Mining Company in Cape Mount, as the current legislators are not using their oversight responsibility to benefit the people by providing their input to improve the Health, Sanitation, Education, social and agricultural sectors but rather citizens have to demonstrate before they can benefit from their own resources.

Madam Varplia, noted that some legislators from Cape Mount are knowledgeable of the Mining Development Agreement (MDA) but failed to verify those agreements or provisions that could benefit the lives of the people.         

She then called on her supporters not to be deterred, or be carried away by so-call politicians, but should remain focused and determined.
