“Constitute a Committee”, says Minister Sirleaf to Project Affected communities (PAC).

Citizens of the Mano Oil Palm Plantation Project Affected Communities (PAC) of both Bomi and Cape Mount Counties are to constitute a Committee soon.

The formation of the PAC committee is based on a suggestion from Minister Varney Sirleaf in a mass meeting recently to discuss 14 counts against the management of the Mano Oil Palm Plantation.

Amongst the 14 counts, inhabitants of the affected communities over emphasized on count 14, which states that three top employees of the Mano Oil Palm Plantation be dismissed due to bad labor practices, to include:

Massive dismissal of employees & contractors, Intimidation of workers, Nepotism among others.

The three top employees to be removed according to count 14 include:

1. Pemelia Togbah – Human Resource Officer (HR)
2. Biojay Kangar
3. Moses Fallah

After a hectic discussion with citizens of the Affected Communities (PAC) of both Counties about the removal of the three top employees during a mass meeting at the Matamo Estate in Grand Cape Mount County over the weekend, Minister Sirleaf logically concluded that the PAC should constitute a committee so as to find solutions to their plats.

Meanwhile the PAC chairman Mr. Alieu Jalibah described the Minister’s decision as restoring hope among citizens of the Project Affected communities ( PAC).

He at the same time disclosed that there are plans underway to found a committee in order to find a way forward.

It can be recalled that in November of 2022 inhabitants of the Project Affected communities staged a 21 days protest to call National Government’s attention on what they termed as continues suffering from the management of the Mano Oil Palm Plantation.
