The National Bomi County Citizens Association in the Americas wants the Bomi Legislative Caucus to swiftly intervene in the ongoing operation dispute between the management of the Western Clusters Limited and some aggrieved Citizens of the County.

In a communication addressed to Senator Morris Saytumah, Chair of the Caucus, dated January 9, 2023, the group is calling on the Caucus to halt all operational activities of the company until the MOU is revisited.

Reading the petition on behalf of the National Bomi County Citizens Association in the Americas, Madam Bendu Washington noted that the MOU and the Work permit that were entered into between the Public Works Ministry on behalf of the People of Bomi and the Management of the Company in June of 2022 did not clearly communicate the principle and true interests of the people of Bomi.

Madam Washington asserted that the group is in no way against the operation of the company as its presence will create job opportunities but the re-visitation of the MOU will give citizens the understanding on what they stand to benefit from its existence in the County.

It can be recalled on Monday January 9, 2023 a group under the banner Concerned Bomi United Citizens presented a petition to the offices of the County Superintendent and Caucus chair demanding Western Clusters Limited to present the MOU for further revision if not prevent the trucks from transporting the ores to Monrovia.

Meanwhile, the office of the Caucus chair has scheduled a citizen engagement and consultative meeting for tomorrow January 12 to find an amicable solutions in to the internal wrangling between the two parties.
